Although this is general overview and applies to all major syllabi there is an overlap of the key topics covered at GCSE, AS and A-Level Sociology. The course covers a wide range of topics effecting society in general. Local teaching can reinforce the learning of key fundamentals should students wish to go onto study degree level Sociology. Both A-Level and GCSE Sociology courses deal with such topics defining the role and importance of the family unit.
